Mar. 21st, 2006 09:24 pmChris,
ruby_wings, and I went to Uwajimaya's. Thankfully for me, the bookstore was closed. So I wasn't tempted to get another issue of Gothic Lolita Bible. I also managed not to buy any Hello Kitty stuff, even though they had a whole bunch of nifty stuff. Including little Chococat baby tees. I could probably also buy stuff that matches my messenger bag, wallets and checkbook covers and all manner of odd things.
I did get more hair dye. And a ton of food. Including ramen, various items with seaweed or tofu, a red bean cake (yummy!), soy milk (they have unsweetened fortified Vitasoy, covered in Japanese writing).... I bought a little eight-pack of coconut and soymilk drink boxes by Vitasoy that looked really yummy, but had to return it because I noticed it said the flavoring included milk products. Dammit. It sounded like a cute and tasty way to sneak some extra calories into my day.
Oh, and a strawberry-flavored pop. One of the ones that has the weird-ass marble in the top. Next time I go to a party I should buy a whole bunch of those in different flavors.
They also had the original Red Bull drinks from Thailand in those tiny bottles, but I had no way of knowing if the taurine is synthetic like it is in canned American Red Bull, and it didn't say how much caffeine is in it--I don't need to end up all shaky and stuff.
Uwajimaya's is dang fun. But you do spend a lot of time reading ingredients, whether you're vegetarian or not--you end up seeing random items and going, "What is that?!" and trying to find the tiny English print on the back. Not that it always helps.
I was exhausted at work today. The incredible lack of employees didn't help me one iota, neither did the shitty sleep I got last night. I'm going to finish this ramen, maybe nibble something sweet, and fall into bed, yep.
I think my weekend is officially full. Saturday I'll probably help
jameslentz and
ourglasslake move. That night is Bhangra! And I think
rikell42 and I have settled on Sunday for a day trip to the coast, likely Astoria. Life is good sometimes.
There's a potluck thingie at work on Thursday. I'm craving yellow cake with "buttercream" frosting, and I have a recipe. Bwah ha ha.
