aprilstarchild: (It's for lovers)
So, first of all. In this picture, Stacy is the girl on the left. Just so you have a reference of some kind. Or...something. Heh. When [livejournal.com profile] rikell42 and her coworker Jeff and her and I went to Karam last night pre-ritual, we were being silly, and I showed her my driver's license, and she squealed because I'm wearing a chorus shirt (same as in the above picture) in the photo.

Today after she picked me up, we went back to her house to meet up with the other person we were hiking with. St. Johns isn't as far from my house as one would think, because of the St. John's bridge and back roads. She lives in a really awesome house (hardwood floors, huge kitchen, plants everywhere) with some other women.

The hike, on the Leif Erikson road/trail in Forest Park, was quite nice. We all chatted a great deal and admired other people's dogs and got rather muddy. After that Stacy and I went to the Paradox, and I had the special: biscuits and gravy with mushrooms and onions and tempeh. She had ravioli, and after that we split a piece of carrot cake, oh gods that was tasty. She drove me to my sectional rehearsal (which went rather well, I'm not stressed about the four songs we're supposed to have memorized this Thursday) and then she came in when it was over and we socialized I got to hold and pet one of the rabbits that lives there. OMG. Rabbits = cute! And soft. And they shed a lot like whoa. Then she drove me to the max station.

And I have another date with her Wednesday night to eat Cuban food, because apparently she knows a really good place and they have numerous vegan options that aren't so spicy that my nose will run all day while I drink a ton of ice water or something.

I was telling her about pirate gathering and told her she could come along and she smiled and asked if I was inviting her to share my tent. I pointed out that I do have a rather comfy air mattress. *evil giggle*

So, yeah, I had a great day, even if I was sore from my other weekend activities, and had a headache a good portion of the day. Yay advil.

Last I checked, I was about 100 posts behind on my friends list, so I might get working my way through that now.

Grr. Having trouble uploading avi files. It says "error: server contacted, but Gallery not found at this URL."

Any idea how to fix that? I've managed to upload a movie before, darnit. I have two: one of bellydancers doing sword stuff, and one of Frodo and Jennifer playing two of my favorite tunes, Butterfly Jig and Swallowtail.

Half the pictures are too damn blurry, I'm going to end up deleting a bunch. Although the shots of blurry bellydancers are kinda cool in their own way. Some of the roller skating pictures turned out kinda neat. I want to make an icon out of the one I took looking down at my own legs + skates.

And I screwed up when making albums, so you have to click twice to get to the roller skating pictures. The Paganfaire pictures ended up in reverse order. Grrrrr. To top it off, I forgot to rotate the sideways ones. *really frustrated* I swear to gods, most of the time if I manage to get pictures on there in any kind of logical way, it's half by accident. I seem to have to figure out how to do it all over again, by trial and error, every time.

Also: My mom made shrimp for dinner for her and my dad. It's rather stinky. I meant to make something for me to take to work tomorrow but the kitchen smelled nasty and now that either the smell has gone away or my nose is numb to it, I'm too damn tired to cook anything.

Tomorrow at work I push the cart around. I do that Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Tuesday and Thursday I'm sorting. So yay, I have my favorite jobs all this week. Go me.

I once again have the song "On Children" stuck in my head. Grrr. Well, at least I know I have it memorized. "Oh your children, are not your children, they are the sons and the daughters of life's longing for itself. They come through you, but they are not from you, and though they are with you, they belong not to you..."

One song I really enjoy, I know it mostly phonetically, and it's something like: "Sah sah kro-mah, nee nay woo ah chay chay nko-nko-mah..." It's a game song, near as I can tell it's similar to songs used to pick "it" for hide-and-seek, like "Eeny meeny miny mo" or "bubblegum bubblegum in a dish, how many pieces do you wish?"
