aprilstarchild: (the four houses are NOT)
I got 6.5 hours of sleep last night, the most I've gotten in a while, and while it's still not enough, I no longer feel half-dead.

I had a hell of a lot of fun skating last night. I did fall a few times, but not badly. I was afraid I'd pulled my hip or something, but this morning I'm fine. The room seemed evenly split between people capable of zooming around like maniacs, and people who weren't.

At one point I was standing on the side, I think I was talking to [livejournal.com profile] sagcat, when [livejournal.com profile] ourglasslake skated by, with [livejournal.com profile] jameslentz following closely. As he went by, he commented that following her meant he got a nice view, which cracked me up. And every time that [livejournal.com profile] jameslentz fell, I swear, his glasses went flying. He gets the award for the person who keeps getting up and skating, no matter what. He reminded me of people playing Stickball at Pirate stuff.

[livejournal.com profile] jenhowell and Lee are both excellent roller skaters. At one point when I stumbled/fell, I sat on the floor a minute, and Lee starts going around and around me. I said, "I know you can skate circles around me, but I didn't know that was literal!" He said, "We're like sharks, circling you in the water." *LOL*

But, yeah, [livejournal.com profile] rikell42 and [livejournal.com profile] sagcat and [livejournal.com profile] ourglasslake and [livejournal.com profile] jameslentz and I mostly spent time just trying not to fall too hard, while everyone else zoomed around and tried to avoid bonking us. *lol* Actually, [livejournal.com profile] rikell42 didn't do too bad...I don't think I remember him falling.

"Bohemian Rapshody" is great roller-skating music. So is Cyndi Lauper's "She Bop" and Madonna's "Like a Virgin." Just to get that on record.

A huge Thank you! to [livejournal.com profile] jenhowell for arranging this!! *hugs*

And now, time to dress like a pirate. Heh.
aprilstarchild: (I'm too sexy)
Will begin to catch up on everything tomorrow, but must say now:

I like Irish reels. I may have plans for the third Friday of every month from now on, as that's when Portland Ceili has dances. With live musicians. There are lessons starting at 8:30ish and then the live music starts...uh, ten or eleven? Don't remember. It's at SE 6th and Morrison, where the Witches' Ball was. Hee. I can do the Faery Reel.

Paganfaire itself was fun. [livejournal.com profile] rikell42 and [livejournal.com profile] sagcat were there. I got to play around with Jennifer's harp for a bit. I won one of those yarn hair falls in the raffle. Over my own natural hair it really looks neato, but oy! it's heavy.

Got a ride home with Stacy (Soprano 1!) from chorus. Girls are capable of completely flustering me in a way that boys cannot. I'm going hiking with her and two of her coworkers tomorrow morning, but I got so flustered in the car I forgot to finalize plans for getting to where they're hiking. But I have my Aurora chorus roster upstairs and she has a cell phone so we'll figure something out, I'm sure. She lives way out in St. Johns, but she drove me home tonight anyway.

*blush*

Errr....yeah.

In other news, my hip isn't sore from skating but my back was. And then I wore a bodice all day. Oweeee. Gonna take some advil and take a shower and probably get my ass into bed, yup. After I call Stacy. Eep.
