dragon_mintz and I went to bed around one and didn't wake up until...well, one. Oh yes, enough sleep is a beautiful and gorgeous thing.
Especially after Friday. Work was tiring, especially as exhausted as I was. I'd started my period that day (Yay! TMI!) and that made me even more tired. So of course it was cold and windy, and then the bus was a goddamn Comedy of Errors. I walked the mile to the max, but when I got to Willow Creek Transit Center I didn't want to walk from the 52 stop todragon_mintz's apartment, so I looked at the schedules and saw the 47 was coming by in four minutes, which takes me a little bit closer. I wait, and wait, it doesn't show up. I see the 48 pull in (after waiting almost twenty minutes), which gets me even closer, and hurry to catch that. We get to 185th, and turn right instead of left. WTF? I pull the stop signal, and when the bus stops because the max is going by, half the bus gets off. Turns out the bus was turning into an 88 bus and hadn't bothered to change his lightboard. Fucker. We all walk back and wait, again, for the 48. When it shows up, we fill it, and there's usually only two or three people on it. The last 48 bus and the 47 I'd waited for? Neither of them had shown up. And this 48 was late. Gah!! So it was an hour and a half after work when I finally made it into her apartment, and I'm so tired I'm sick to my stomach. I ate some cereal and read for an hour and then fell asleep, and didn't wake up until she got home just after nine pm. So between my nap and last night I think I've had 14 hours of sleep.
She rented American Wedding, the last of the American Pie movies, which I hadn't seen. Crude but funny anyhow. We looked through the "special features" and there's one called Stifler Speak. It's so funny to see the guy who plays Stifler sitting and discussing his character as this serious thing. Or seeing the sign they had near where they were filming, warning other guests of the club they were filming at, that what they were filming contained a lot of profanity. He would actually sit down and try to think of different kinds of obscenities for his character to use. They showed a bunch of different takes of him in front of a country club's desk cursing them out, anddragon_mintz and I were just falling over laughing our asses off at it. And then we'd say something like, "I'm gonna hang out with my wang out!" or "I'm gonna rock out with my cock out!" and bust up all over again. "I'm gonna boom-boom with the bridesmaids, Finch-fucker!"
I never said I had a particularly mature sense of humor.
I'm applying for another job with The Portland Clinic. There's a Radiology Aide position open downtown. I'd be doing damn near the same exact thing I do now, except with X-Ray films, and I'd be doing all the jobs I do now every day, instead of one task per week. I'd also get a buck and a half more an hour, which is a lot when you only make $8.50. It'd be nice to work downtown, holy crap. I'd have more flexibility about where I live, since my job would be on the max line.
Of course, I've always wanted to in Portland proper, especially in NW or SE, and now I keep thinking, but it's so far fromdragon_mintz!! *lol* I suppose I could try for the Wyndhaven apartments at the Willow Creek station...but I've got time to think about it.
Went to a nifty ritual today. Ended up bringing home magick beans. Seriously. *lol* I need stew ingredients--an onion, some root veggies. I'm also craving some squash. Mmmm...acorn squash. With butter (well, butter-like margarine) and cinammon.
After ritual,5minutelimit, Jeff (another covenmate), Doug, and I went to Hoda's and ate ourselves damn near sick. The waiter was so nice about the vegan thing--once I asked if something had dairy in it and had ordered a vegetarian item, he would tell me what was vegan and not. Kinda cute too, as Jeff pointed out.
Tomorrow: Church. And then a wedding. Amber aka Amberdextrous, is getting hitched. Yay!!
