I had the my first class in the next-higher level of neo-tribal. Yay for being partially lost a good portion of the time.

I'm also, for once, not the only person in my class with fucked-up turnout. The more I futz around in bellydance the more I realize that this is something I truly do need to fix, or I'll wrench my knees or back. Either that, or I need to give up on any kind of formal dance, which probably won't happen. I have this problem show up in any kind of movement or dance class and I'm so sick of it by now. My knees aren't over my toes when I bend them, and it messes with my lower back like you wouldn't believe. I should not be sore there after every dance class.

On the upside, the class itself was a lot of fun. Apparently the same group of people usually shows up on Tuesday nights. At the end of all the neo-tribal classes (post beginner one) you get a chance to actually improvise a bit in a way similar to performance. In this case we paired off to mirror each other, and every couple of minutes the teacher would tell us to switch to someone else. I kept hoping that the other person would lead, and mostly they did, but not all of them let me get away with it, goshdarnit. Mirroring is hard once you get arms involved.

Also, I need to find my zills, they use them for that part of the class. Although it's not like I wasn't plenty lost just worrying about the arms and everything else before you throw in me trying to keep a 1-2-3, 1-2-3, rythym on top of all of it.

The gauze keeps trying to come out of my gum holes. I'm hoping this means they're healing quickly and trying to push it out. I'll find out Friday at my follow-up appointment.

I'm so tired. I bought food from the co-op with the intention of cooking it, but I have a can of soup I can bring to work for lunch tomorrow, and I'll cook after work. For now, I'm putting the food away and going to bed. Whew.
