I know what you mean! But then I think, the minute the first episode airs, the damn season will almost be over. And then it's back to waiting. I am so thankful I did the whole spoiler thing this summer because it was a way to prolong my enjoyment.

For me, engaging in spoilers is a way of releasing a little bit of the pressure from a brain that feels, on this subject, a bit like a well-shaken can of soda pop. Just let out a little. So I don't explode. But I like the way you look at it too!

I'm actually a bit anxious about season three, because I know that 1. I'll likely watch it via livestream, and if the stream hiccups or I can't get into one that works on time I will LOSE MY SHIT, 2. There's no way anyone is going to have the livestreams with captions on, and I know I'll miss at least half of any given deduction sequence and up to a quarter of everything else and it drives me batty to know that, 3. I will want to spend my every waking moment screaming on tumblr between episodes. I'm terrified of missing ANYTHING, which is ridiculous because of course I will, at first--and then we have another two years to pick apart every second via fics and screenshots and gifs and meta. I don't have to see it all at once.

I wish they were spread out more--like one per month--so I had some time to fucking deal with them before BAM the next one. Because, yeah: they're over almost the second they've started. Three episodes. And then back to waiting.

That would be fascinating if they spread them out. Oh my! Wouldn't that be a fun surprise. We'd have all this time to write fic in between the episodes.

I am also worried about the livestream hiccuping too. It's bound to happen. I am also worrying about being in transit when the damn things air. Worry, worry, worry. And I am so going to want to squee like mad and discuss the things. It's going to be so amazing. Three Patch is already trying to work out strategies for how to deal because we know we're going to want to put out a reaction episode to each episode right away - something quick and dirty like Spoilercast that comes out within 24 hours of the episode airing- but it might be a challenge if we all haven't seen it at the same time and are overcome with feels and have to be at work the next day.

My personal head canon with that gif (at least until proven otherwise) is the reason Sherlock's lip is scabbed over is due to John punching him in the face. Or maybe Lestrade. I could see either of them doing it.

No. The last (totally unofficial) guess I heard was that it will air in the UK in January, and they're hoping to have it air in the US as soon to that as possible. Which is good, 'cause there was a FIVE MONTH LAG last time. All the hardcore fans downloaded it illegally in the meantime and they know it.
