The ingredients of Skittles are now vegan.

BUT: Mars (the parent company) funds animal testing.

DILEMMA!!

Um...I'll just buy one package? I mean, seriously: Skittles are the only candy I miss from my pre-vegan days. Milk chocolate was never my thing (better dark chocolates are almost always vegan), I can make my own vegan Butterfinger-ish type candies (cover Chik-o-stik with melted chocolate, voila). But Skittles?? They were my favorite movie candy. If I wasn't at a movie, I'd separate each of the colors out so that I had one of each in every handful. Yup.

Awww... Suprise ruined... Somewhere in a container ship between here and Kuwait there are some vegan Skittles with your name on them (Sure, it's in Persian, but it's your name. Honest. I had the guy read it back to me.)

I couldn't bring myself to buy them. Any company that hurts rats (and you know it's always rats... sigh) I just can't support.

I would eat them if someone else bought them/offered me some, though.
I really like Skittles, too.

Pfft, I don't worry about HFC, I think most people's panic about it is overblown. All sugar is junk food, so saying one kind is worse than another isn't that big a deal to me.

Plus I hardly ever eat sweets these days. My childish sweet tooth has faded quite a bit.

I'd buy some once in awhile. Honestly, you can't avoid everything at all times. Sometimes you just have to decide what you should just say goodbye to forever, and what you're willing to get once in awhile. This is a compromise I've become a lot better at over the years.
