I have an appointment with that staffing agency in Lake Oswego early tomorrow morning. Have sent resumes/cover letters for like five jobs. Mostly medical records. This is progress. I'm insanely qualified for most of the medrecs positions I saw, and some of them are offering higher pay than my last job.

But the real reason I made this post: Do you guys think I would look good with bangs? Not the long ones that get in peoples' eyes (I'd go nuts) or the even-longer ones that you have to push aside all day (ditto), but the shorter ones. More like [livejournal.com profile] joyful_grrrl's.

The more I see people's bangs the more I like the idea. I don't want a short haircut, I love my long hair, but I think it looks boring the way I pull it back every damn day. Bangs would just, y'know, add visual interest.

(A picture of me and her together, for comparison.)

What do you guys think?

I say yes, and get some nice layers to frame your face leaving length in the back.

I think that style of bangs would look cute on you if you wanted to go for it.

I've got long, side swept and angled bangs. Sort of. I mean, they aren't in my face at all, they just add softness to my hairline. The only time I am annoyed with them is when I've just trimmed them up and go too short. Then I have to tuck behind my ears and the shortest bits won't tuck. My hair grows so fast it's not too long until they are back to normal, though.

I'm camera phobic or I'd show you what I mean.

Just an FYI: every time I have ever had bangs it makes my forehead oily and I am otherwise *never* oily. I think it's just the presence of the hair and a touch of styling product coupled with some random fiddling that I would otherwise not be doing without the bangs. Just a thought to consider. (The only product I use is Self Control styling stick from Aveda; it keeps things from being fly away and gives a bit of hold/anti-static without making me use hairspray.)

Also seconding the fact that there's extra daily upkeep to keep them looking decent and trimmed and, in most cases, un-styled bangs that are meant to be styled look like crap. LOL!

With all that said, if you're really curious about them I'd give them a try. My artist's aesthetic tells me you'd look better if the bangs hit somewhat close to your brow as opposed to an inch or two up. Just my 2 cents, tho. ;)

Yeah, I agree with Alicia that I think bangs would look, well, bangin' on you, but especially longer/closer to your eyebrows.

YES!

I love my bangs, and I have oily skin. I just wash them each morning with my face, no big deal.
I've been thinking you should get bangs ever since I started looking at the Lolita pictures.
You should try about a half inch above your eyebrows, and then you can go shorter or longer from there easily.
I think the really short bangs take a certain kind of face. They look terrible on me. Every time I get mine cut professionally they cut them too short.
