The Serenity screening kicked ass. I noticed a lot of things that I didn't notice the first...uh...three times. Admittedly, those were a while ago, and all close together...

They sold out. There are 47 other towns/cities doing the same thing. Yowza. A guy from Portland Browncoats said they estimated that $65,000 had been raised for Equality Now. That rocks. I'd love to see the final count. They had a bunch of sponsers, including my credit union, First Tech. They're the credit union for tech places (including Intel and, I believe, Microsoft) and Nike. So, I'm guessing there's a few geeks in there.

There were people in costume, but surprisingly few of them. The Portland Browncoats had tshirts and patches galore, it was wild!

I went with [livejournal.com profile] sagcat (yay for last-minute social plans), and we ran into [livejournal.com profile] galactogogue and a friend of hers and hung out with them. I also ran into a woman I'm friends with in chorus and her partners and said hi.

[livejournal.com profile] galactogogue gave myself and [livejournal.com profile] sagcat a ride back to the eastside afterwards, and we were subjected to bad pop and rap music. It was amusing.

When I got to [livejournal.com profile] rikell42 and [livejournal.com profile] jenhowell's place, the door was open. What I assume to be Bert (the landlord) and a friend of his, are sleeping on the futon in the living room. WTF? Bert has his own, rather large, bed. That futon is kinda harsh even as a couch.

Maybe it's not Bert?

I feel redundant here. Although I guess since my job is to catsit, and Bert probably doesn't do much taking care of the cat...speaking of which, Lucy wanted into J's room when I got online, and after thoroughly sniffing around, she settled on top of the monitor! I've never seen a cat do that before. I should take a benadryl, I know she's been on the bed. That and my allergy eye drops. I should take a picture of Lucy on the monitor.

Just did. I don't think I have a way to upload them here, though; unless J has a smart card port or something.

Plans for tomorrow: Spend a day, all by myself, doing whatever the hell I want. *lol* I want to meander around in Saturday Market. J's not a huge fan of ambling through booths just poking around and semi-shopping, and even with friends I know I'm going to find things interesting that they don't and vice versa. So I'm going alone. I was going to buy a straw hat if I saw one I liked, but after Serenity, and seeing someone dressed as Kaylee complete with little buns, mandarin jacket, and parasol; I might go to Finnegan's and buy an actual parasol. I'll be in jeans and a halter top and carrying a parasol. Whee! I can take it to SCA/pirate events, too. I also want to stop by the new secondhand goth clothing store--Scarlet Garden?--at 23rd. I should have done it today, but noooo I spent too long in Powell's (and only bought one book, I'm so proud).

Whether or not I go to bellydance class tomorrow depends entirely on what time I wake up. I'm not setting an alarm, I want to get however much sleep I need, even if that means missing dance class. I wish I could see the alarm, it's all the way across the room. I'll keep my cell phone nearby to check the time, if I remember.

Sunday I have a ship meeting. Aaargh. *lol* I saw someone's license plate recently that said just that: "AAARGH". That kicked ass. I also saw once a few weeks ago that said, "BURNIN8". Wonder if he's a fan of Trogdor. *giggle*

Anyway. Off to bed, all alooooone.
