BNF is often used to mean authors as well, in hobbitslash and H/D. Anybody with just tons and tons of people on their friends list.... Cassandra Claire (aka epicyclical is a BNF, both in LOTR (she wrote The Very Secret Diaries) and HP. emmagrant01 is a BNF but only in H/D circles.
Hobbitslash and H/D have a lot of crossover. When I first started heavily reading H/D, I kept finding people I used to know from hobbitslash. fictualities used to be a well-known Frodo/Sam author, for instance.
