Your observation about the "wavey buzz" is very good - those are reffered to as beats, and they do get slower the closer you get. I do feel rather horribly embarrased with not checking the levers and leaving a string broken. I'm learning how to service instruments (accustic technology isn't hugely different within major groups - such as the piano and the harp are both stringed instruments), damn it! I should know better. And we need to work out rent - I'm such a space cadet about that sort of thing, and tend to forget about it.
