Near as I can tell, she wants me to give it up completely for a month, and then start adding it back in after that. :-( I so far have proved unable to do this. There's sweets everywhere at work, and then today Cherie took me to taco time, and for non-water drinks my choices were tea (caffeine, would keep me awake) and soda pop. I can't stand diet and it gives me the creeps anyway, so that wasn't an option.
I'm going to the Beaverton Farmer's Market tomorrow and picking up a ton of fruit. I figure if I eat a half-cup of it or so after each meal (which is when the cravings are worst), I can calm them down a bit. *shrug* I was specifically instructed not to substitute dried fruit for all the sweets I normally eat, but I think fresh is allowed in moderate quantities. I'm also going to try the birch sugar (xylitol) she gave me--I may end up making some sort of herbal tea at work and putting the xylitol in it and see how that works.
