It was nerve-wracking though. It was odd, even though I was sorta stressed that day, it was mostly along the lines of "Did I forget to bring anything?" Then, about fifteen minutes before we were on, my hands started to shake and my heart started to pound and I felt like I had to pee even though I just had.

All day we spent doing sound checks and light stuff and etc. Joan was stressing out because the guy doing the sound had only been there three months and obviously wasn't very good at it yet. We were way behind schedule--it was insane. We were supposed to get forty minutes for dinner, and we got fifteen!

Two other people had the exact same shirt I did. "Mervyn's, right?" "How did you know?!?"

So, yah. The Schnitzer looks way different from the stage. I mean, DUH, but still.

So we walk out and I'm smiling really hard because I'm excited and nervous--the kind where my face twitches, so I kept trying to not smile, and that didn't work either. *lol*

I wasn't too fidgety, thank gods. Also, I rarely screwed up, and every time I did it was on lyrics and in ways no one could possibly notice. My pitch was good, and the two songs I was really worried about (Dream On, and When You Wish Upon a Star), I didn't make any mistakes at all!!

Also: after intermission I ended up with about half of the chorus, sitting in the wings listening to Christine Lavin and trying to figure out a way to see her where the audience wouldn't see us. She's hysterical! I ended up buying one of her albums, actually. During Sensitive New Age Guys, a few of the guys onstage heard us laughing and noticed us. Oops. *giggle*

Doing the song Wind Chimes with her turned out to be a blast!! They let us keep the wind chimes (they came from the dollar store anyway), so I have a fun momento besides all the stuff with the concert logo on it.

Found my parents and my younger brother and [livejournal.com profile] 5minutelimit after the show. Oddly enough, I was the most worried about Chris' (my brother) opinion. He did chorus in high school, and Westview's chorus kicks ass. Plus, doing chorus, he'd know what to look for, y'know? Kinda like, the worst critic of a belly dancer, is usually....another belly dancer. Turns out he loved it. My dad didn't know I'd already ordered an archival CD for him and had hid his recorder in his pocket. *lol* It was so weird to listen to that recording--they were in the balcony, so it was all echo-y. But also, I've only ever heard any of my music while sitting in my section. Hearing it all together, everything sounded completely different! I'm looking forward to getting the CD--I'll finally know what the songs actually sound like!

Tyson hadn't been able to come, so his ticket went to a friend of Nana's. I wasn't sure what Nana would think of it--turns out she really didn't like Christine Lavin. I think Christine's humor is relatively tame, but I guess not everyone does. Mary, Nana's friend, had some "issues." *lol* According to Tyson she's convinced we said that Jesus was a girl, because we did a version of the 23rd Psalm with female pronouns.

I haven't had a chance to find out what [livejournal.com profile] singswithtrees thought of it. I'll have to ask her.

Can't think of anything more to say. Also, chatting with [livejournal.com profile] dragon_mintz. So that's all for now!
