But on the other hand, this is fucking hilarious:
Yup.
So is dramatic readings of phone calls to city hall. Especially if you're a Portlander. It's worth listening to the call transcripts read out loud.
IN OTHER NEWS: Ridiculously busy weekend. I just backed out of helping out with a freak bike alley kat event tomorrow. I feel like an ass, but we never had anything definite set up anyway. Of course, that's because a Zoobomber who's only 24 or so died this last week in her sleep, and everyone's understandably upset. I didn't know her, but I recognize her face in photos.
I backed out because my friend Brad is having his goodbye party tomorrow, he's moving to Illinois to be with his sweetie, whose daughter is still in high school. He says they might move to Portland when she graduates.
Saturday there's a surprise party for someone who, thankfully, isn't on LJ. Sunday Shawn and Carye are leading a ride to Lake Oswego and West Linn, but it's shorter than it was going to be so we can go to the funeral of the girl who just died.
That night a friend is having a "nuclear taco" party. If I go, I think I'll bring refried beans and skip the insanely spicy fake meat product. I'll just have boring-ass tacos and enjoy hanging out with friends as their noses run and eyes water.
There's a Sacred Harp thing going on all weekend. I dunno if I'll go to any of it. If I do, it'll have to be early on Saturday. After a party on Friday night. Ummm...not likely.
In other other news, I'm going to Cricket today to get a new phone. Yaaay!
