I have an on-going list in my head of places I want to visit...

If I, like, won the lottery or something, I'd go to Japan and buy a ton of clothes. But these are trips I actually think are reasonable.

Iceland...eventually.

Vancouver, BC! With Shawn! We'd hang out with bike-y people Shawn knows (I've only met a few of them)...and btw, I find it interesting that Portland and Vancouver have lots of back-and-forth of bike geeks visiting the other city for stuff...but not many Seattle folks visiting other cities' bike scenes. WTF? Also, I've recently discovered, they have a fairly large (compared to Portland) lolita scene. So I'd bring at least one outfit with me that requires a petticoat.

I want to bike down the coast, possibly by myself. To San Fransisco, probably, since I haven't been there yet. I love bike touring and I love the ocean, so it seems like a good combo. I'll probably follow most of the directions of the same book pretty much all the bike tourists going down the west coast use. I've been told it means you end up seeing the same people in the hiker/biker sites every night, which is its own kind of fun--and would help me feel less lonely biking all that way by myself. I'd probably send some clothes ahead of me if I plan to spend any time in San Fransisco, as the clothes I wear while bike-touring aren't the ones I'd want to wear walking around the city!

I'd love to do part of the Sierra Cascades route from Adventure Cycling, with Shawn. Probably just Washington and Oregon and maybe Northern California. I find that I'm not terribly interested in the area of southern California, even if I'd be in fairly wild land. In any case, the route is designed to parallel (as much as feasible) the Pacific Crest Trail, and goes through so much beautiful scenery.

Eventually I'd like to do the TransAmerica route, which hasn't changed much since BikeCentennial in 1976!

I want to visit New York City. I've never been, which just seems silly. I joke that I want to go to Brooklyn and see hipsters in their native habitat. There's not much typical tourist stuff I want to do (other than visiting Ellis Island), but I want to bike around and visit museums and mostly just be there.

I want to bike Le Route Verte in Quebec and visit Montreal.

And of course, I want to visit the coast a bunch, and go backpacking in the Olympic National Forest, and visit all my favorite places a bunch!
