So I went on a Pretty Dress Ride on Sunday. (Pictorial evidence here and here.) I changed clothes, quite literally, twenty times, before I decided to wear the musical-note dress.

As I looked in the mirror before leaving the house, I kept thinking, "I look ridiculous. I am thirty years old, halfway to thirty-one. I am dressed like a little girl." But I bravely left the house and rode the seven or so miles to the start point, with a stop at Whole Foods.

On the one hand: I had three separate people tell me the loved my dress, just on the way there. And I think every single person on the ride wanted to tell me how awesome and adorable I looked, and wanted to know where I got the dress, etc.

But, when I was in the restroom at Whole Foods, I looked in the mirror and did a double-take. And then, from my bangs, I yanked out a gray hair! AAAAUGH!

Speaking of Whole Foods--just as I walked in the door, they started playing "Electric Feel" by MGMT. I took it as a sign and finally bought the album, Oracular Spectacular, after the ride. Yesterday I started wondering, how many times can I listen to this album before I get sick of it? Well....I listened to it five times. And twice already today. Yeah. I'm almost embarrassed by how much I love this album. Partially because their videos (hell, the album cover) look like something straight out of Look at this Fucking Hipster. Jesus, they're even from Brooklyn, which is the native habitat of the modern hipster.

But, damn, I could listen to "Electric Feel" all goddamn day.

I suppose I'll get over being embarrassed about it. I got over being embarrassed about liking Justin Timberlake, after all.
