Apr. 30th, 2009 06:14 pmWe get Bicycling magazine in the mail, because of Donna's BTA membership. It's a glossy magazine you can buy at your average grocery store that's aimed at people who race, although they occasionally have nods towards commuters etc.
Last year I remember laughing at the June issue, because their stupid calender feature showed a race in Bend but didn't mention Pedalpalooza or the World Naked Bike Ride.
This year, the nude ride still isn't mentioned (wtf y'all) but Pedalpalooza is.
Next to a picture of Boy George:
June 11th-27th
Pedalpalooza, Portland, OR
This cyclist fest includes more than 100 events: Ride to the Columbia River Gorge, take a maintenance class, play bike polo, or dress up as an '80's pop star for the cycling dance party. There's even Kidical Mass, a ride for the tiniest cyclists. www.shift2bikes.org
Shawn G is leading the ride to the Gorge, and the '80's thing is a nod to Lily's Bowie vs. Prince ride, which was fucking awesome last year and had more than 300 people.
Kidical mass is pretty much every month, but whatever.
