Strange, strange weekend
Apr. 13th, 2009 05:40 amAny time I wasn't biking or eating, I think I was asleep.
Went to Midnight Mystery Ride, drank a bit too much. Took goofy videos with no actual video, but you can hear the sound of people harmonizing with beer bottles. Got back to Shawn G's house in one piece, barely.
Woke up at ten am for the Dead Freeways Ride, did the whole thing hungover. Did you know there's an entire town of just residential inside Portland city limits? It's the City of Maywood Park, and it was incorporated just to fight the construction of I-205. They lost, but the town is beautiful.
We biked eighteen miles total, and went to Flying Pie Pizzeria. Then back to Shawn's house for a nap. HAH. We fell asleep at four something and woke up at nine or ten something. We walked to the Plaid Pantry, got food, ate, and were back to bed by one thirty.
Got up at seven thirty, Shawn went to work, I went home to shower/change and then to the Bunny on a Bike ride. Received many compliments on my dress, did a lot of fun riding, talked to lots of people, got to the end point and realized the potluck included very few things I could eat. I meant to make some stuff the night before but had slept instead!
When the potluck etc was over I went to the ReRun store across the street. Got an excellent black wool sweater that will match darker lolita outfits, and a dress and skirt that don't fit yet but will once I give them new waistbands. Lovely fabric.
Went to the hostel to show Shawn my dress and he was getting off work! We went to a place called HedgeHog I hadn't been to before. Yummy beer and chili and I got to see him do some drawering. Well, lettering really. Whatever. I'd never seen him do any art stuff in person before and it was hard not to stare, so I just gave up and watched him. We left there around sixish and came back to my place. We lay down, and I don't think falling asleep was the goal, but that's what happened. I woke up after it went dark and turned on my alarm and then went back to sleep until my alarm went off at five thirty.
As a side note, someone was wearing the adult size of this bonnet on the bunny ride, and I really want to make one with a matching skirt or dress, to wear to the Oregon Country Fair. Or just around town, although I doubt the bonnet goes with a bike helmet very well.
And every time I think of the word bonnet, I get that line from I *heart* Huckabees stuck in my head: "He likes the bonnet." LOL
