In other news, I'm going to that house in Sellwood right after work to see the house. I'm so excited, you have no idea.

What my landlord wanted to talk to me about last night? That they'd switched out the light fixture in my room. WTF? He could have said that on my voicemail! In any case, it had fixed the problem for several hours, but by the time I got home the circuit breaker had flipped again. However, right now I have a borrowed lamp in my room, so at least I'm not trying to get dressed in the dark.

I told him I was looking at moving. He almost ignored me except to say that he'd appreciate as much warning as possible. Um....this room opens up on the first. Yikes.

If I don't give thirty days' notice, can he do anything about it? I gave him a $250 deposit when I moved in. The place in Sellwood wants a $125 deposit, but that plus rent is still less than my monthly rent now!! Hahahaha.

And!! There's a party tonight! Woooo!!

It's that "First sentence of the first post of each month" kinda-meme. Got the idea from [livejournal.com profile] jenhowell.

January: Chris's and Ashlee's wedding was short and sweet.

February: I just walked off my job. [Only in retrospect do I truly realize how awful that job really was...]

March: Someone on my block has a woodstove. [I was commenting on the smell reminding me of festivals/SCA events.]

April: We went to the new house yesterday. [That would be the one near Holgate.]

May: [livejournal.com profile] dragon_mintz! I get to post to you twice!! *lol* [I was talking about a bellydance show.]

June: So, it's official: Jarrod and I are no longer dating. [Errr....]

July: So I'm taking all the boxes of dishes/kitchen stuff out of the garage, and hosing them off and shaking them out and figuring out what I'm keeping and what I'm not--they were the only boxes that Katrina and I didn't sort through, because they were the last ones and most are wrapped in newspaper. [I hate moving. I really do.]

August: I went ahead and did the Quick-Entry thing for Portland State, as I've decided to only take Chemistry this fall. [Whee! And then I took Biology instead!]

September: OH MY GOD. I've had too much to drink. HOLY SHIT.

October: I was thinking of getting the Bjork lyric/songtitle "all is full of love" as my first tattoo. [And I did!]

November: Frodo has a vet visit this Saturday. [*snif*]

December: So I finally joined craftster.org, and after perusing the Spinning forums, I suddenly want to adopt a rescued sheep or two and buy a spinning wheel....*LOL*

Okay, that was...not as interesting as I'd hoped.

Email sent to the Shift list today:

Welcome all bike funnists,

Come to the SE Lucky Lab [1] at 7:30 Tomorrow (Saturday Dec 28 2007),
and have a pint before heading to the FEZ [2] ballroom for what may be
the most danceable music in existence [3]. Everyone I know who has
ever been to this event has told me that it is the best dance night in
Portland. Ask your friends, I'm sure a few of them have gone, and
will agree. Then invite them to come along.

Start drinking at 7:30, ride at 8:30. Arrive earlier if you want to
drink more, but not so much that you can't ride to the dance location.
:-)

EVERY LAST SATURDAY NIGHT: ANDAZ
w/ DJ Anjali and The Incredible Kid
Bhangra/Bollywood/HipHop
9pm, $8

[1] 915 SE Hawthorne Blvd http://www.luckylab.com
[2] http://www.fezballroom.com/events.html

Oh hells yes. I wasn't planning to go out Saturday night, but like I'm going to miss a chance to go on a group bike ride to DJ Anjali and The Incredible Kid. That's, like, two of my favorite things in one night.

Planning my clothes will be interesting. A skimpy dance-clothing layer under warm riding clothes. Ha! Maybe I'll just pack a miniskirt. No! I want to wear that black short dress with the braided belt. Yup. Track jacket and coat over it, jeans and fun socks and comfy shoes underneath. Remove Layers As Needed.

If anyone else wants to come along, or just meet me at the club, I'm totally up for that.

I got a long-ass ride ahead of me to that house in Sellwood. If I do end up living there, getting a road bike is going to become important, I think. It's about six miles between work and there.

I hope it doesn't rain hard. I'm wearing a skirt and leggings and socks and thin boots. Yikes.

After I see the house I'm riding home and making sure I have everything to go to the party tonight where [livejournal.com profile] sagcat and [livejournal.com profile] glitterninja are house-sitting. I kinda wish I'd just packed stuff with me, I coulda just put my bike on the bus and gone out there without stopping at home. C'est la vie.

Okay! This post is officially too long!! And I need to get my ass out of here!
