May. 24th, 2007 06:55 amMine do this toooo. So cute.
AAAAGH crunch time for Convergence. So excited. I don't know my exact plans for getting places/what I'm going to, etc. Plus, and I know this sounds silly, but I don't know what to wear to daytime events! *LOL* I have my outfits mostly planned, the dress is pretty much done (and wow, is it ever awesome).
Friday is going to be hectic. I'm tempted to bring my clothes and stuff to work and just get ready there for Friday night's stuff. Naaah. I'll go home and change and hug Jarrod before running off for the night--pick up my Laminate and hang out until when the show is going to start, I suppose. And I can take the bus into Portland that night--what I'm wearing for Friday isn't too strange (gothloli on the bus is a bit much though...).

Friday night is also, before the show, a time for "rookies" of Convergence to hang out somewhere at the Hilton. I might do that.
Oooh, decisions, decisions. Damn.
Going to my parents' house tonight--Katrina has to go out to that side of town anyway. (Have I mentioned how fantastic she's been the last few months? Helping me with my stuff, helping me with my dress etc., just too cool). I'm going to grab a black skirt I haven't worn in ages and my red brocade corset. She's loaning me a red velvet bustle, and I'm going to see if that works with the other items. If not, that's fine, but if it does that would be so awesome. I'd actually have a pseudo-Victorian outfit for one of the nights. Well, two of the nights, if we're counting Victorian children.
Hee. When the zipper and the lace for the hem were done on the dress, I ran to Katrina's bedroom to use her mirror with the whole get-up on (including a not-quite-done crinoline) and OH HOLY SHIT I love it. Although, now that we took a couple of hours on the sleeves, I'm not sure I like the ruffly bit and I might take that off, and just have shorter sleeves. Hmm. The fabric is so stiff that it looks odd to me. Worst case scenario, I got some practice doing gathers, I suppose. *lol*
I need to join one of LJ's EGL/gothloli communities. I poked around a little, and there are people doing something I'd thought of--having tea parties! I wonder if there are any in Oregon...if not, I might see if there's enough interest and think about hosting one. Hee hee. There just aren't a huge number of EGL people in the USA (although there's more every day) and so tea parties are awesome, because it's a chance to dress up in the whole thing with other people who enjoy it too. I've seen some neato pictures online. Hahaha I'd be living out a childhood fantasy from reading all those Samantha/American Girl books.
Woo! I gotta get ready for work. Shit.
