bits and bobs
Mar. 11th, 2007 08:33 pmThe Vegan Cake or Death event last night was super-awesome.
jenhowell and
ourglasslake went into lots of detail about it so I won't here.
Afterwards
thorongil8 and the bunch of us (the aforementioned, plus
jameslentz and Jarrod) went to Backspace and some of us ate vegan quesadillas and we all laughed and laughed. I haven't laughed that much in a while, it felt good.
thorongil8 ended up crashing here. I was still asleep when he left, I guess. He got to meet my girls. Sammy peed on him. *LOL*
Jarrod and I, after we ate lunch at the yummy Vietnamese place on Division, went to Mt. Tabor. It wasn't nearly as crowded as I expected. The weather today has been pretty cloudy, but it's also been in the 70's, temperature-wise. We had a lovely walk.
Full-Sail made a limited edition lager. Drinking that, reading The Faery Reel (a book of short stories by well-known fantasy authors) on the front porch, that was so heavenly. At one point I pulled the rat cage outside (I so wish I had one of those playpens so they could wander around safely). George acted like he'd never seen the rats before and tried to get a paw into the cage. Lucy got on top and tried too...which is odd...they see the rats all the time! Somehow it's magically different when they're outside? In any case, the rats just stuck their noses in the air and did like "snif-snif-snif-snif." Oh, and startled at every tiny street sound.
My new job starts tomorrow. I'm excited and nervous. Whee!
