Nov. 1st, 2006 05:33 amWe have motion sensors on our porch lights, and short of standing outside and waving our arms, there's no way we can figure out, to keep them steadily on. On top of that, our house is set back from the street.
So we've had exactly one pair of trick-or-treaters tonight. One of the costumes cracked me up--this boy's dressed in all black. He has a box on his head that says "ATM", and a dollar bill sticking out of his mouth. *LOL*
On the way home, in Ladd's Addition, there were tons of kids going door to door, and lots of houses lit up with orange or purple lights, and pumpkins, and sometimes "scary sounds" CDs. It kicked ass.
The wind, however, did not. Brr! I have gloves now, though; and they're really awesome. Super-warm, for material that thin, with grippy stuff on the palm and fingers. It's so weird, because my arms and hands and torso and most of my head are warm and often even sweaty from working so hard physically (especially in that wind!), but my legs and feet and face are still freezing! And my nose runs like a freaking faucet, I have to keep a hankie in my coat pocket.
We had two pie-pumpkins from Jarrod and my last farm pick-up. We made pumpkin soup from my old copy of Laurel's Kitchen. It was very yummy with toast.
I've been feeling icky today but not seriously sick, knock on wood, haha. Yay Zicam and Aleve. And it turned out I had some lozenges after all, I just hate them. I hate the taste of menthol, but it's the only thing that works for me. I like how menthol feels, though...I love putting Vick's on my upper lip when I'm sick.
