Ten years ago...
I had just gotten hooked on the internet--mostly chat rooms and websites about The Beatles
I was attending Westview High School as a senior, the only year I went there
I had more than two new outfits for school for the first time in my life
I had almost no social life outside of school, except online
Five years ago...
I was about to move into an apartment with Bianca
I stopped driving
I was almost midway through my relationship with Tony
I was working at Fred Meyer
One year ago...
I was living with my parents
I was near the end of my relationship with
dragon_mintz
I went to see sections of The Lord of the Rings soundtrack performed by The Oregon Symphony
I went to an astrology party
Yesterday...
I had chorus rehearsal and got all excited about our new music
I had an exhausting day at work
I bought a book about the tapestry of Bayeux at Powell's
I came home to find my boyfriend asleep in the blankets, just his hair sticking out, and felt more content than I can remember feeling in a long, long while...
Going out to the Fez tonight. *happy dance* OMG!! I love dancing. I'm meeting up with
nikkiling there, too! Woohoo!
Oh, and speaking of that book I bought at Powell's: it is surely a sign of my medieval geekiness that I'm finding the text of the book absolutely fascinating. Even I thought I would be bored with pages of text discussing various arguments about who did it and when and where, with pictures of other artwork of the time period to back up some ideas...but no! Apparently I can be so riveted by discussions of, say, whether the illustrations showing people holding shields over the sides of boats is historically accurate or an imagination on the part of the artist (did people really hold them like that? is it based on other artwork? and if the first is true, did the artist see it in person? does that mean they were Norman? maybe Scandinavian?), that I missed my max stop this morning and had to backtrack to get to work!
Hysterically funny photoshopped images of the tapestry can be found here!!
