"Perky Goth: Putting the Romance Back in Necromancy."

Poll turned out interesting--18 people voted, and all but four put "boyshorts" as one of their votes. Only three people liked thongs. Victoria's Secret is selling the wrong kind of underwear. *lol*

Personally, I like just about anything as long as it's clean and they fit and they're not granny panties. ;^)

Boyshorts are fantastic when that's all they're wearing, or you get a view from under a skirt or something. But I have to admit.... oh lordy. If a g-string or thong is poking out of jeans (and not in that skanky kinda way where it's on purpose, but accidentally) on a hot female, I get all wibbly. The Hot Girl at Hecate's Sickle was wearing these beat-up guys jeans, and at one point they had slid down a little and this shiny red gstring was showing in the back, and I just about died.

To all my Pagan/Wiccan friends: Happy Imbolc! May you feel the warmth of the first fires of Spring!

From DayKeeper, for February:

SCORPIO. You are laying new foundations for your life through a change in your work or goals. With altruistic motivation, you can benefit much through this change in orientation. Creatively you are brilliant. This is a time to put your work before the public. Publishing? A show? A concert? Discipline is important now, in order to build soundly.

From Free Will Astrology, for the week starting tomorrow:

This isn't always the case, Scorpio, but right now you have a certain resemblance to that type of wild iris known as blue-eyed grass. Its stem isn't hardy enough to hold up more than one flower blossom at a time; before a new bloom sprouts, therefore, the old one has to wither. Similarly, you can't and shouldn't try to work on more than a single labor of love, at least for the next week. Devote all your concentration and care to it, ignoring the other possibilities. And don't worry: This narrowing of your focus is a good thing.

So it would appear I need to pick something creative and really go full-gusto at it. Chorus is in full swing these days, so it'll probably be that. Although I am going dancing for at least the next three weekends....heh.

Speaking of dancing: Belly Dance Superstars is coming to Portland in March. I'm so going, if only to see Rachel Brice in person. I know [livejournal.com profile] aeonflux1973 wants to go....anybody else?

Poked around Hot Topic earlier and was Oh-So-Glad I didn't actually have any money. They have several skirts that I covet badly. Must stay away from them for a while. Even though I filled up that little card and my next purchase is 15% off. Even if I don't have a short black skirt that truly fits. While I was in there, I realized my pants and belt came from that exact Hot Topic.

Voltaire has another book out, this one is on gothic homemaking. Making a goth cake, have a goth wedding, decorate your house/apartment in a goth style. I love what I know of Voltaire. Now there's a guy with a sense of humor about the whole thing. He's even got several paragraphs telling people to stop being so mean about Hot Topic--he points out that for lots of people, it's the only place to buy a lot of things, especially teenagers stuck in suburbs. I just know that I used to roll my eyes at my high school friends who thought they were goth because they liked Marilyn Manson, and most of their clothes were bought from Hot Topic with their parents' money. And now I'm the one buying all that shit. At least it's my own money...

It amuses me how much stereotypical "goth" stuff I like. A lot of the music, a lot of the general aesthetic, a lot of the clothes. *lol* But I know I just do not come off to people as a goth, even when dressed like one and dancing to Covenant or something.

OMFG. Wikipedia has a short entry for perkygoth, which is what I've had several people tell me I am. Hahahaha...

EDIT: There's even a PerkyGoth Manifesto!!

(no subject)

I forgot to buy black thread, I hope my mom has some, because I need to sew all the buttons on my dress for Saturday night. I loathe handsewing. I need to make sure I look up the proper way to sew them on--my handsewn buttons usually don't stay, and I really don't want to be flashing people unintentionally. I've thought about also tacking the sides together between the buttons, but then I don't know if I'll be able to get the dress over my head!

Heh. I'd still like to be able to take it in a bit on the sides--it's an eensy bit big on me. But still hot.

*evil giggles*
