aprilstarchild: (all your fault)
I'm getting a wee bit weary of getting such shitty sleep. Every hour or half-hour, I wake up enough to roll over and look at the dang clock before going back to sleep. I fall back asleep just fine, but having my sleep interrupted, repeatedly, isn't fun. I even took a skelaxin last night because my shoulder was bugging me, and it still happened. I'm certainly tired enough, I've been averaging a little over six hours a night all this week, and I need between seven and eight.

Fuck that. Tonight I'm taking a benadryl or two. Who needs ambien or lunesta, when a couple of benadryl makes me sleep like someone hit me upside the head with a brick?

Maybe I should turn the clock around. But then I'll be afraid my alarm is just about to go off...hm.

This weekend:

Lush: I'm out of Herbalism and running low on Jungle
a music store: a pitch pipe and electronic tuner
Uwajimayas: Hair dye, a few foods I can't get elsewhere, possibly an issue of Gothic Lolita Bible just for my own horror and amusement

Saturday night, I forgot, is Katrina's party. I'm also going to Bhangra at the Fez later. So I'm going to at least put in an appearance and give her a hug and wish her a happy birthday, before going elsewhere (probably [livejournal.com profile] ourglasslake or [livejournal.com profile] jenhowell's place) to get ready for dancing. Wooohoo!

WTF!?

Nice modifications though. *giggle*

Apologies to true DM fans, but am I the only person who doesn't like the Black Celebration album? I listened to the whole thing at work today, and I...well, I just didn't like it very much. It might grow on me if I gave it a shot, but I'm not terribly tempted to try.

Plus, this line:

Death is everywhere
There are flies on the windscreen

sung oh-so-sincerely, made me laugh. OMG! Dead bugs on a windshield!!

So much of it sounds like bad poetry that some of my "goth" friends wrote in high school, which left me forever with a wariness of reading my friends' poetry that I've mostly recovered from. I dunno, maybe you have to be really depressed to like this album?

Reminds me of Tyson's parody of high-school goths (which I believe he got from somewhere else): "I want to die, die, dye my hair black! And staple my hand to my forehead!" which is only funny when properly acted out.

Another note: for years now, I thought that line from Personal Jesus was "reach out and touch me," and it's "reach out, touch faith." (OMG! A mondegreen!!) I hear it correctly now...but I think I like my verson better. *lol*

EDIT: I found a page full of DM mondegreens. Some people here far funnier things than I do--one person apparently heard "reach out, touch faith" as "reach out, fuck face"!

How about: "Your own, personal, cheez-its"??

My parents are watching The Virgin Suicides. I hope they realize it's actually about, um, virgin suicides. It's pretty gruesome in places.

But I forgot how much I liked the soundtrack.

Well, I have a couple of choices--I can stay online or hear the entirety of the movie secondhand, or I can go upstairs and lie down with my headphones on.

Or end up watching the movie. Dammit.
