I haven't written about my party yet. Duh.
My dad and I were cleaning almost up until the moment people started arriving. I was upstairs getting ready when
singswithtrees and Tyson arrived, and they weren't in costume yet anyway, so that worked out pretty good.
It was fun to have so many of my friends in one place, but I was really nervous (I hardly ever have parties or anything) and trying to make cider and cookies and keep an eye on whether my odd mix of friends was doing okay and not getting bored or anything. So I ended up really hyper and distracted. My dad wasn't nearly as obnoxious as I'd worried he'd be, thank
gods. My mom was at work, she's got a holiday job at Freddy's.
Eventually we all managed to pile into cars and get to the theater. There were far fewer people in costumes than we'd expected.
ourglasslake and I ran off to play DDR, and then at one point ran back to see a large group of eighth-graders all in costume. We all complimented each other--there was a younger boy with a sign on a chain around his neck (the kind you hold up in a mug shot) with a serial number, "Azkaban," and "Black, Sirius," on it. He made it himself, and I thought it kicked ass.
During the movie itself, there was much squealing. Hopefully us three fangirls weren't too obnoxious, holy crap.
Did you know that two of the members of Radiohead were part of the rock band (which are called The Weird Sisters, btw) during the Yule Ball? I didn't see them long enough to try to figure out who was who under the costumes, oh well. The only member of Radiohead I'd recognize is Thom York anyway.
I'm going to end up trying hard contacts after all. They're super gas permeable, or something like that. In any case, I poked around online, they actually provide better astigmatism correction than glasses. They're less expensive than soft contacts ($130 for one pair that lasts as long as the Rx does, instead of $100 every six months), and I'm allowed to try them out for two weeks and then return them if they don't work out. Here's hoping. *crosses fingers*
I've been eating all damn day. Ooof. I like cooking and I like eating. Mmmm....food.
I managed not to smoke all week...until Thursday. I was all stressed out, and even though I had half a pack at home, I bought some at the convenience store by Beaverton Creek station and had
two before chorus and another one after. I had one Friday and one yesterday and I'm craving one right now, oh holy shit. It might help if I hadn't forgotten to take my Wellbutrin and Lexapro two days in a row. *headslap*
Talked to Tyler via AIM. It was a really amusing conversation, to tell the truth. He's in Seattle right now, sharing an apartment and working at a car dealership. He seems to be doing pretty good, which I'm happy about. It was odd, because when we lived on the farm, we always were either getting along famously, or barely not killing each other.
