Bowling last night was tons of fun. Doesn't hurt that of the people on my lane, I tied for first (with 91 points) for the first game and came in second (with 111) the second time.

I got my birthday present from axiom and alicia_stardust, some vials of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab perfume. With pirate names! They all smell really good, and in the process of sniffing them I got some on my fingers and could smell it for a good part of the night. I'm becoming as much of a scent whore as some of my friends. *snif* *snif* Ooooh yummy.

Went to sagcat's house with dragon_mintz so we could change and put on makeup. She made herself a black bodice that laces up in the back. It's awesome, and I pointed out that now she has something to wear to pirate stuff, should she choose to go. She'll need a chemise and skirt (well, she could easily skip the chemise depending on the weather, the bodice covers enough), but those are way easier to sew.

I had my striped stockings on, too. Woot.

At Noir I remembered why I don't normally wear stockings--I was roasting in there. There was a DJ before koschei23 named Uberlush that I actually really liked, even if when he played a dance version of that one song by Blur with him yelling, "Woo hoo!!" some idiot kept yelling it whether it was in that part of the song or not. The same guy kept "woop! woop!"ing later on, like he was at some frat party. Gaaah. But koschei23 played a good set too. I don't think I've ever danced that much at Noir before. I had so much fun, and as usual; it was over too quick. In retrospect I am embarrassed by how much I whined when we left. *eep* I mean, it was almost two.

Gaah. Mostly out of money until my paycheck on Thursday. I need to go to Tyson's and start rummaging through my crap until I find a button-down shirt and my slytherin tie. Hoo boy. I also have to help get this house clean. I feel tired just thinking about it.

Plan for today: I was going to go to a sectional rehearsal, but I need a shower and stuff and I'm feeling lazy. Plus I'm so behind on the music I should be practicing at home anyway.

So: Shower. Go to Freddy's and buy the rest of the ingredients for the stuffing I want to make. Make stuffing, mostly to make sure I even like it. I just need mushroom broth and shallots.

Make an attempt to pick up my room a little, and wash my sheets and towels, with the goal of taking an actual bath and using up some of the stuff I bought on my last Lush run.

I got this link from jameslentz. It's an essay by Wendell Berry. I'm really liking it, even if I have to read it in stops and starts because my attention starts to lag, and I really want to understand everything he's saying, and absorb it.

It reminds me of a teach-in I went to on the WTO, before the protest in Seattle. All these speakers were getting cheered by the crowd as they enumerated all the ills of the WTO. Near the end, a speaker said, "When you point a finger at someone, three of your fingers point back to yourself. What are you buying? What are you doing in your day-to-day life?" He was my favorite of the people speaking.

I work at seven am tomorrow, but I have to be there at six-thirty the rest of the week. Oh holy crap. That's an ungodly hour to even be awake, much less at work.

I took far too much of a thrill at the fact that I recognized a lot of the music at Noir last night. It always bugs me when I have friends who love a particular kind of music that I've had no exposure to. alicia_stardust especially, has been helpful at getting me up to speed (I also got a copy of a Covenant cd last night, woo!), as has dragon_mintz.

Also, note to self for the future: It's impossible to be over-dressed for Noir. *lol*
