Abusing the line tag!!
Tomorrow I'm going to start bellydance classes again. Yay!
I think I'm going out Thursday. Woo hoo! ....am I doing anything Friday? I think I am. I don't remember. Saturday
dragon_mintz and I are day-tripping the beach, Sunday she's coming with me to the Funny Farm for the September Birthdays party. I always forget that birthdays mean presents, I didn't even think of it until
silverrose79 mentioned a potential gift for Cherie. As an adult I always make sure to point out that gifts are optional at my birthday parties. First of all, not all my friends have any spare money. But mostly because I figure I'm not the only one that just plain forgets. Up until I began putting that in my invites, I was always honestly surprised when my guests gave me gifts, because I don't have parties to beg for presents, I have birthday parties as an excuse to have a party where I get to decide things, like the guest list or what we're eating or whether or not there will be DDR.
This year I'm thinking of just doing the Fez thing (no preparty) for my birthday, so that a couple weeks later I can have a party for when the fourth Harry Potter movie comes out. Yay for costumes and getting Halloween stuff on sale post-holiday.
Winter holidays (Christmas, Hannukah, Solstice, you pick) are easier, gift wise. They're all around the same period of time, so I just figure out a list of people to get gifts for and start thinking.
I missed going to a movie tonight. It was almost seven when I saw that
dragon_mintz posted to LJ, but the theater is in SE. "Well," I think to myself, "maybe she hasn't left this side of town yet..." But then I remembered stuff I needed to do, one of which is getting to bed around ten, because tomorrow I'm doing a rather physical job at work and then going to a dance class. Gotta have enough sleep occasionally, y'know.
Plus I couldn't remember if I even thought I wanted to see that movie. While typing this I remembered that it looked interesting but wasn't really my thing, so who knows.
Yay, I'm a grownup. Other the other hand, waaah I missed a social occasion. Even though I see my friends damn near every week (sometimes twice!) and stay at her apartment close to half of most weeks, I hate missing something. One of my more deeply-ingrained neuroses, certainly. It's more irritating to me than upsetting though, so I'm getting better at keeping it at bay. Except for my desperate need to check my email or friends list every single day, preferably several times.
I think I might live with my parents until I have all my debts paid off. Depends on whether I get sick of them and/or have a roomate offer before then. Getting stuff out of collections is not the same thing as having them paid off. *shrug*
There was a thunderstorm today, I got to feel the thunder while on lunch. Kick ass! I went to the bank and then to Freddy's after work, and while walking home from there I could see more rainclouds coming in. Yay!! The temperature is nicer this week too.
The kitten is the most adorable thing on the planet. She also keeps trying to jump into my chair, but she only makes it halfway, so her front claws are caught in the cushion and her back legs will be scrambling on the plastic bottom, which is a very funny sound. She will sit behind me and bat at my hair. Just now she kept trying to walk on the keyboard to figure out what, exactly, I was doing.
I'm reading a novel borrowed from
dragon_mintz because I liked two books this author wrote for the YA market, Summer of Love and The Golden Nineties. They're both about different periods of time in San Fransisco being visited by time travelers. I like The Summer of Love better, but that has more to do with my old 1960's obsession than anything else.
In any case, when I started reading it, I bookmarked it with the first thing on the coffee table, which was a subscription card that had fallen out from a magazine I'd purchased at It's My Pleasure. I took the book to work and realized on the max that that was not the best choice in bookmarks. *headslap* I ended up just folding it in half to hide the name. My coworkers probably don't want to know.
