Went to The Egyptian last night. That was so much fun. I got to see
dragon_mintz sing my favorite Sarah McLahclan song (I think I spelled that wrong), "Possession." *le sigh* Got drunk enough to sing myself, and then really screwed up. Next time I'm singing a Beatles song, and not Radiohead--The Beatles have a more conventional song structure. I tried to sing "There There" but it was really freaking hard to hear the actual music, so I totally fubared it. I was too intoxicated to care that much. *lol* They had an awesome variety of songs, but oddly, only one Oasis song (and not one I knew) and no Bjork. They had some out-there stuff, but....no Bjork. I guess she'd just be really tricky to do karaoke to, or more importantly; she'd be hard to do karaoke, and not hurt the ears of your audience. *lol* But, c'mon, put "Wonderwall" in there or something.
It was kinda neat to just people-watch there. I mean, there was just a cool variety of people, obviously mostly women. Also, everywhere I looked there were cute girls and/or girls dancing and/or girls making out. Although I think the girl I was with was the prettiest, and I'm not just saying that to be cutesy. She got me a Tigger-ish stuffed animal and a flower while we were there.
Are we nauseatingly cute or what? *lol*
I need to eat more than usual today. Maybe I'll skip my adderall or something. I've had no appetite at all lately, and it's just not happy. Grrrr. Or as I told
dragon_mintz last night, I'm probably one of a very small number of American women trying to gain four pounds, and the rest are all recovering anorexics. I need a new belt, the one I have isn't small enough. It's hard to find one I like, that fits, that's not leather, and isn't way expensive.
Going to the county fair today to keep Deanna company. Also, to look around. It's odd, because I like visiting all the animals there, but I hate the fact that they're obviously not happy about where they are, and most of them are going to be auctioned off for meat. The cows are just fucking depressing, really. I love looking at the sheep and especially the goats. I love goats. Have I mentioned this? *giggle* I've always been annoyed at the biblical anology of seperating the sheep from the goats, and the goats going to hell and the sheep going to heaven; because goats are clever and have personality, and sheep as a rule are dumber than posts. Also, sheep have a really strong herd instinct, to the point where if one sheep freaks out for any reason (and they freak out at everything), all the other sheep freak out too. *rolls eyes* Meanwhile, you're still fixing your fences because your goats figured a new way out and are just damn proud of themselves. *lol*
I really need to visit the Lighthouse Farm Animal Sanctuary. They have farm animals in a much more pleasant context. Most of them are rescues from places of known abuse, or animals taken away from people who went to jail for something else. A few of them came from properties with meth houses that were shut down. But they're treated nice there, and once a month there's work parties, and they have tours and stuff. Also, I've emailed them, and I could get a ton of wool for nothing. They shear the sheep and alpacas every year to keep them cool in the summer and check for skin problems, and they told me I could just come get it. Woohoo! I need to take Deanna.
sagcat and/or
ninja_pidgeon, I keep thinking it would be a neat place to take Boo. They encourage you to bring food (they offer suggestions on their website) and you can feed and pet the animals. Apparently pigs are really affectionate. Hell, so are chickens!
