Jul. 6th, 2005 08:34 pmMy fillings ache. I get the feeling that that isn't a good thing. It's not unbearable, but it's annoying and worrisome.
Yesterday at work was really calm. So of course today it's a madhouse. I'm learning a new task that's basically three other tasks put together, and it's not steady or something you just always do the same way, like Rx faxes or something. You've always got to be aware of what's going on, and keep track of four things at once.
Thank gods that Dave's training me. He knows this job inside and out. He also saved my ass a bunch today because I was always forgetting something. *headslap*
Tonight: laundry and cooking and please gods getting to bed at a semi-reasonable hour. I have to be up at five am.
Thurday: Work, Veganopolis *drool*, belly dance class, getting picked up by
dragon_mintz when her class is over and staying at her place *more drool*.
Friday: Work, going to see Chris' Drum and Bugle Corps performance--basically marching band for people not in high school anymore, mostly college-age. This is like the only time for this season that I'll really have a chance to see his show, as after this he'll be in competitions all over the dang country. Last year his team (The Oregon Crusaders) won the nationals in their class. Not bad for only being their second year or so. They made the news in the area the competition was held and Chris got a call from a dude for the Oregonian. Pretty sweet.
Egads. Ever actually seen a field show competition? It's pretty impressive at the high school level, but you get to Drum and Bugle Corps and suddenly, holy crap. I've seen some that your jaw would hit the floor--very complicated manuevers, very technical color guard stuff, really hard music!! I mean, c'mon, The Rite of Spring as a field show? I've seen it.
Saturday!! OCF!! Woohoo. I can go with Tyson and
singswithtrees, but they have to leave early due to a prior commitment. It's better than not going at all, but still, that sucks. :-( Athir can't go because he has to work, which is too bad because he's never been and I know he'd love it. C'est la vie.
