Went to a lovely ritual with a Maypole on Sunday. I found it amusing that they were so concerned with making sure there was an even number of people and all that--hello, we invoked Pan and the fae, do you really think it's going to be nice and organized? Pssht. Had fun anyway.

What else to say? Had a good weekend, all told. Today was Monday so I was working. Grrr.

Got a pedometer at work. Since lunch I've walked almost eight thousand steps, but then today I was running around with the cart--thank gods I'm not doing chart assembly again.

Am behind on my friends list, shall attempt to rectify that somewhat. No promises though.

Overheard in New York. Cracked me up.

Someone needs to join me in seeing Colleen Coover's art show before it runs out on May 24th. She's the writer/artist of Small Favors. There's another person showing at the same time, whose art consists of anatomically correct sock monkeys. *lol*

My concert is June fifth, and after that I have a break until September, when chorus starts up again.

I want to take the beginner level of neo-tribal bellydance at Euphoria Studios. I'd be going to Thursday classes at seven pm. Their next term starts May fifth and it's six weeks long, so I'm assuming it's starting again the week after my concert.

I want someone to come with! Don't get me wrong, I'll go anyway; but I think it would be fun to take that class with a friend. It would be $60 for the six weeks, and the studio is at SE 12th and Division.

Anyone up for it?

Gawd. I haven't taken a real dance class in ages. I took ballet from when I was nine until I was twelve, and then a term of it at PCC. It was always good at focusing me. I love to move to music, and I like the discipline of having to move in specific ways, of trying to learn something new. When I tried to take ballet as an adult, the Ballet 1 and Ballet 2 classes were done together, so I always felt incredibly awkward, especially because my sense of balance isn't the greatest. Also, scarily enough, I was the second heaviest girl in the class, which made me ridiculously self-concious.

It broke my heart to stop taking it when I was twelve--it wasn't my decision in any way. I don't want to attempt ballet again I'm pretty sure ([livejournal.com profile] alicia_stardust can do that for the both of us) but I want to learn dance, dammit! Belly dance seems like a better fit for my personality anyway, wouldn't you agree? Even though, relatively speaking; I have no hips.

Also, The Circle's professional troupe (whose home is Euphoria Studios) is having a performance next weekend...whether anyone wants to dance with me or not, I'd love to have company!

Vine Leaves, Sat May 7th, 8 pm The Circle Dance Company with Fez Fatale. This promises to be a great show! 2221 SE Hawthorne. All ages, no cover
