What Is Your Battle Cry?

Skulking on the plains, carrying a piece of chainlink fence, cometh Aprilstarchild! And she gives a vengeful howl:

"I'm going to clobber you in such an inhumane manner, the Earth will spin twice as fast!!"

WTF? Chainlink fence!?! We had that at our house when we lived in a duplex in military housing in Norfolk, when I was in elementary school (well, most of elementary school).

That was random.

WORK! GAH! You may have noticed, I have bitched about us being shorthanded. Today, I didn't clock in until just after ten am because I'd had a doc's appointment. One coworker had already left by then because one of her children was sick. Right around lunchtime, another one left because she found out her grandfather had been in a nasty fall and broken his hip, and they didn't think he'd live through the surgery they're attempting in order to correct it. I felt like crap warmed over due to weird eating habits and lack of sleep (I'm going to sleep until early afternoon tomorrow, I swear to god). Note to self: Dr. Pepper on an empty stomach is a bad, bad idea.

In any case, even with the part-timers staying longer, and a temp that started today, we were up the proverbial creek.

My doc's appointment: I like Dr. Barry. Sits and chats with you, asks lots of good questions. In any case, I've had my Adderall XR upped from 20 to 25, and if that doesn't make it last longer, we're going to try adding a low dose short-acting (probably ye olde fashioned ritalin) in the afternoon, not every day, but for nights when I have chorus or go out with friends or wtf-ever. Because right now, I take my Adderall in the morning around seven, and it wears off around when I get off work. I've been taking a generic of Wellbutrin (bupriopion, and yes I spelled that from memory), and he wants to get me back on the XL version because it would help with my feeling icky later in the day. Problem is, that adds a hefty price tag. Brand-name Wellbutrin XL is over $100, generic (not XL) is around $40. My current drug bill, at Costco, is $130 a month. Eventually I will run out of the birth control pills I got from Planned Parenthood and will have to buy them out of pocket, so there's another $30 or so. If I start taking an afternoon dose, that'll be around $20-$30 (ritalin aka methylphenidate comes in generic now, and it's pretty dang cheap).

Fuck.

How ironic is it, that I work at a goddamn medical clinic, and don't have prescription coverage. The Portland Clinic has been expanding, we're getting new patients every day, you'd think they could afford it. I'm positive I make too much money to qualify for indigent med programs, and Adderall XR isn't covered by that anyway.

Woo, [livejournal.com profile] darksage96 and [livejournal.com profile] alicia_stardust are having a party later tonight. Looking forward to that. And when [livejournal.com profile] infernarl gets off work he'll be joining me and bringing pizza from work....he works at Pizzicato, so it's damn good pizza too. Yeay!!

HEY BINK!! )
I'll admit to not getting about half of those....*lol* But, yes. This is where I spent four years of my life, ending in eleventh grade when I moved here in late November of the rainiest year on record, and wondered if I'd moved during goddamn monsoon season...
