Have been looking up rooms for rent on Craiglist with the thought that it would be cheaper. Lots of houses in SE looking for more people...but shit! Am I willing to have an hour and twenty minute commute to work in order to live in a part of town I love in a house with a yard and really neato housemates??

Also, interesting day. [livejournal.com profile] infernarl and I went into Portland...the tri-met phone line kept saying that the fifty-eight was running on normal Sunday schedule, but when we got there a lady left saying it hadn't showed up and she'd waited for two hours. We had a great deal of fun trying to make the sheet of ice come off the side of the shelter. We kicked it (which made a cool cracked effect like on glass) and I wrote on it with my swiss army knife. All the fun of vandalism without it being illegal or actually damaging anything. It was odd walking around because ice kept falling off of things in huge chunks and sheets. We worried about getting knocked upside the head! In any case, we ended up hitchiking--the fifty eight stop is on the onramp for 26 off of Skyline. NOT my idea, but oh well. Only a few cars went by before an SUV pulled over. There was a forty-ish looking guy in the front seat, and a slightly younger woman in the backseat with a small toddler in the middle. [livejournal.com profile] infernarl sat up front and I sat in back. The woman didn't look too happy to have picked us up. The kid kept staring at me when I was looking out the window and turning away when I looked at him. So cute. He started blowing a raspberry at me, and when I did it back he looked really shocked. *lol* They dropped us off at Everett and 13th or so, which is right where we wanted to be--they were going to REI. I didn't get their names and they didn't get ours, but still, that was really nice of them. I guess we just don't look terribly threatening and they sympathized because of the cold.

Backspace is a fun place. Me and [livejournal.com profile] infernarl and [livejournal.com profile] tanjent played Set and Settlers of Catan and Puerto Rico, which is even more complicated than Settlers, holy crap. I don't know if I understood half of it. Got a lot done on my scarf though. They have neat art on the walls...and just being there made me feel more hip. *lol* We weren't the only people playing Settlers, either. I did pretty freaking good, for me.

Tomorrow is my night to sleep over at church. I thought I was going to have to cancel, but the beginner choral stuff was cancelled for tomorrow night. Since when I get home I'm not planning on getting online, I probably won't be online until Tuesday night. *sigh* Oh well.
