I didn't think I'd post on Christmas, but I am. Ha. Here's the rundown so far:
From Chris and my parents: Harp money, yeay!!! *does the happy dance*
From my parents: A warm purple shirt and a blue sweater. A book of poetry about having a daughter.
From DJ: Twenty dollars each to Origins and the Body Shop. The DVD of Secretary--yeay!!!! (I have
shatteredsmiles to thank for getting me hooked on that movie)
My brothers each liked their presents from me. So did my parents. I'm a happy camper. Bink's coming over later, she has a gift from me and two from DJ sitting under the tree. I know what DJ got her, and it's perfect. I can't wait to see her face when she opens it.
There was an editorial in the Oregonian about how ROTK is an allegory of our times that perfectly represents the war on terror....because obviously, Tolkien is pro-war! I think I want to strangle him. Putting "Tolkien" and "allegory" in the same sentence alone is a requirement for a beating, considering how vocally Tolkien hated allegory. And he was anti-war!! He wasn't a pacifist, he definitely believed in fighting in self-defense, but the "war on terror" wasn't self-defense. Gr. Argh. Kill. *ahem*
All I've had to eat today is a piece of the fruitcake that my grandpa sends us every year (it's good, okay?) and a mini reese's cup. Mom is making bacon and hash browns and eggs. Hm...two outta three ain't bad? I haven't eat eggs by themselves in forever. Maybe I'll put Spike on them. Maybe I won't eat them. I know too much about how egg chickens are treated. Bleh. Moral debate before breakfast, anyone?
