Nov. 30th, 2003 09:59 pmSchoolwork done today:
Finished sections 4-3 through 4-6 of my math homework. Oddly enough, once I got 4-3 figured out better, the rest was mostly downhill. Except I keep skipping the word problems. I have 4-7 left, and the review. I'm going to do the review tomorrow before I take the test so it's all fresh, and if the word probs confuse me I'll go back to the section they're in.
I've also written my Journal Summary paper for my PS280B class, aka Community Service and Action Seminar. So it'll be on time. I'm happy skippy about that.
So now I just have 4-7 to do before going to bed. It's input-output something or other. I love the idea of doing math that wasn't even invented until 1973. The dude who invented it won the Nobel prize for economics. So it does feel sorta dirty, 'cause it's so based in capitalism i.e. worry about quantities of things and supply and demand without thinking about how it actually affects people. But, shit, it's a math class.
Had a really stupid fight with Rick this morning. Over math, for chrissake. Well, not so much the math itself but the stuff going on around it. I'm pretty damn stubborn, and when I finally get something and can understand how to do it, I don't want people trying to confuse me by telling me how to do it easier. It always feels really condescending to me. If I ask if there's an easier way to do it, that's fine. Or better yet, ask me, "Do you want me to tell you an easier/simpler/method that uses less paper of doing that?" *grumble* *grumble*
In any case. Time to do 4-7. Even if I'd rather gouge out my own eyeballs.
