I'm trying to decide whether or not to go to work.

The rest of my body feels pretty okay. However, my sinuses are stuffed up and I have to blow my nose every other minute or so, which means I'm probably highly contagious.

I went to work feeling like this on occasion, when I worked at Fred Meyer. But that was because I'd been written up for calling in sick too often. Because we all know it's fantastic customer service for me to blow my nose and then handle your groceries. They'd give me a bottle of hand disinfectant and figure that worked, but I still hated it.

I'd be doing sorting today, which is admittedly the least-taxing job in the whole department, and I'd be by myself in a corner.

I have a feeling that if I call in sick again, Dave's going to want a doctor's note. I don't have a sinus infection (yet), just a cold.

Gaaah I don't want to work like this.

Talked to my supervisor and then called up my doctor's office...I have a doc's note waiting for me, yay! I know it's not anything personal, but considering it's been three and a half days, I understand the need for a note. I'm just glad I didn't have to go in.

My dad picked me up some Mucinex. That stuff is the shit. That and three cloves of raw garlic and I might stink, but I can breathe through my nose a tad more frequently. With the garlic, I used the garlic press and mixed it with olive oil and miso and put it on buckwheat noodles. It's a bastardized version of a recipe from the How It All Vegan series. I know I have more garlic around here, too; but I can't figure out where I put it. I just don't want to end up with an Rx for antibiotics--all the ones they give out for sinus infections these days, are mucho expensive. And tend to have un-fun side effects. Have I ever mentioned how much I loathe Augmentin? For a while when I didn't have insurance, my mom would bring me samples of it from work whenever I had a sinus infection. I seriously used to get several sinus infections per year. And Augmentin would work on the sinus infection, but then I'd end up with GI stuff and a yeast infection, now isn't that fun? Last time I talked to a doctor about it, he said they often give an Rx for diflucan at the same time now, because that happens to so many women.

I may feel up to going to chorus rehearsal tonight, yaaaay!! Although I'll probably end up sitting in the back by myself so as not to spread my sickness around, not to mention my garlicky stinkiness. I won't be the first person to sit behind everyone else, blowing their nose and not really singing. *lol* I really want to go, I've actually memorized all four the of the songs we're supposed to know for tonight. Or at least, I had them memorized as of Sunday.

I wonder how allergic to garlic Gayle is--she's my ride back to Beaverton post-chorus every week. I'll take a shower before I leave or something, so there won't be as much of it coming out of my pores.

I swear to gods, I feel worse than I did earlier. Maybe I should've had my dad drive me to urgent care after all.

Goddamit!! I just want to feel all nice and normal again. I'm tired of lying in bed, but even sitting at the computer is kinda un-fun. Also, I've blown my nose so much that my nose hurts like hell.

I'm so sick of missing work and shit. I do not have this much sick time. I'm looking at using up vacation time, here. Admittedly I have over a week of it saved up, but still. Grr!! I don't want to use it on this.

I'm going to bed now. I'm going to take some Nyquil. All we have is pill form, I admittedly prefer the liquid stuff. Hits ya like a ton of godforsaken bricks, I tell you what. And tastes just like Jagermeister! Now if only we had some Nyquil and Rumplemintz in the house, I'd be freaking happy, heh. Drunk sick person! Woooo!

Also: Damn I ate a lot of garlic. I've brushed my teeth and eaten several sweet foods, and all I can taste is garlic. I'm going to annoy the hell out of a lot of people tomorrow, pushing the cart all around the building.
